Sixth Year Graduation 2026
On Thursday 21st May 2026, we gathered as a school community to celebrate the graduation of our Sixth Year students. This year’s theme, Blossoms, reflected the remarkable growth, resilience, and achievements of the girls during their six years in our school. Through prayers, wishes, and symbolic offertory gifts, the ceremony honoured the students’ journey since First Year and their hopes and dreams for the future.
Parents, guardians, staff, and friends joined together for this special occasion, which included speeches from our Principal, Ms Kelleher, our Chaplain, Ms Ryan, Sixth Year Yearhead, Ms Casey, Headgirl Mia Ryan, Deputy-Headgirl Asmau Adam Shuaibu, and Father Fergal, our local parish priest.
Music played a central role throughout the graduation, with the Sixth Years performing beautifully as a choir. Their performances of Landslide by Fleetwood Mac, Vienna by Billy Joel, For Good from Wicked, Growing Up Beside You by Paolo Nutini, and We’re All in This Together from High School Musical, a reminder of their wonderful Transition Year production, captured both the emotion and joy of the day.
A highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of the prestigious Joy Award, which is awarded annually to the Sixth Year student who best embodies the Mary Ward value of Joy. We are delighted to congratulate this year’s recipient, our Headgirl, Mia Ryan.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Religion Department, especially Ms Ryan and Ms Fitzgerald, for the care and dedication shown in preparing such a meaningful ceremony. Thank you also to the Music Department, particularly Mr Greene and Ms Cullen, for their hard work with the choir and music throughout the event. Finally, we wish to acknowledge the tremendous support and guidance provided by Sixth Year Yearhead, Ms Casey, who has cared for the girls throughout their time in our school.
We wish the Class of 2026 every happiness and success as they begin the next chapter of their journey.
