The Junior Certificate School Programme is a national programme, currently operating in over 240 schools throughout the country. The Junior Certificate School Programme aims to provide a comprehensive framework that assists schools and teachers in making the Junior Certificate more amenable to those young people who may struggle to access the secondary school subject curriculums.

It attempts to help young people experience success and develop a positive self-image by providing a curriculum and assessment framework suitable to their needs. Loreto College, Crumlin began running a cross-curricular and dynamic Junior Certificate School Programme programme in September 2007 which focuses on developing the literacy and numeracy needs of our students and ensuring the Junior Certificate is accessible to our entire student cohort.
